LAPD Still Saving Lives Car Show June 4, 2016

The safest place in the valley.

The LAPD Still Saving Lives Car Show was HOT! No justice for those who got there early, they parked us in the sun. 100 + degrees, so skipped the bbq, too hot for hot dogs and burgers, hit the food truck instead. This show is for a great cause so it was worth the trip, look for photos of the show this week.  Check out last years show here.

Pomona Swap

Oh My! Took all of 5 minutes to park and get into the show. What happened? Not sure if it is the heat, a lot of empty spaces but it was still crowded. Had a double car show moment when we ran into Bob with his 1950 Ford Woodie at Pomona, he was at the LAPD Car Show, looking for a buyer for his ride, hope he gets some serious offers, it's a beautiful Woodie in mint condition.

Stopped by to pick up one more bar stool from Rusted Gold, their hand-crafted auto inspired bars and table settings are wonderful for any car enthusiast looking for originality. The other side of Pomona

Pomona Swap Meet is divided by a line. On one side are the cars, the other side is the swap meet. From signage to memorabilia, parts, diapers, every way to clean your ride, sunglasses, body parts, and stuff. This side of the divide is just as busy as the car side of the show. Moving through the crowd, wagons in tow, there is a little bit of everything to entertain the senses. The Pomona Swap Meet. Get there early. Next show August 9, 2015

The Pomona Swap Meet was crazy cool. Last show was a bust with the threat of bad weather, the rides and the vendors stayed home. For some reason it was easier to get into the parking lot. Usually by 6:00 the line to get in is a long, long wait, you pay and then they stream you into 2 lanes. Not so bad today, also the actual getting into the show was faster. Maybe they are trying to figure it out. Finally. Compared to the last show, today they let the sunshine in, it was already a packed house at 6:30. The parking lot was full of bugs as you entered. VW Vans, bugs, and a few selected what is that, took over the first parking lot. Haven't seen this many cars in a while at the show, nice to see the crowd so early in the morning. Came across a few Rancheros in the crowded pack. Only one stood out but any time we see a Ranchero it is always a good day. A lot of the usual suspects in the back row of perfection brought their rides out to Pomona. The line-up was awesome, most of the cars had their windows down giving the camera a chance to catch the steering wheels. If you love steering wheels car-tografi has a great selection from all the shows here at the 65.  Classics in crisis were in abundance, sitting on their trailers, nothing as beautiful as a car waiting for someone to love it, unfortunately most are just broken down for parts.

It was a full house at Pomona. So many cars, so little time.

Discovered at the Pomona Swap Meet. Rusted Gold.

You never know what you may find at the Pomona Swap Meet (December 7, 2014). Mixed in with all the swap meet memorabilia was the Rusted Gold booth, Row 29. Creative benches and bars along with a few other whimsical uses for car parts & wood filled the space. Working with the artist, this custom bar with bench was created with a Ford theme.
