Do Classic Cars find you?

Always for the want of a Ranchero.

My brother’s car was a black, deluxe model with bucket seats. So for ten years, pinned on a bulletin board in my office were the exact dimensions of a ‘65 Ranchero, reminding me that someday I would find the perfect car and make it mine.

Why are you following me?

Saw the trailer at a car show and passed on it, but the thought of what could be would not let go.

The Perfect Fit

Jack’s Auto Body gave this ride the ghost flames needed for the final finish.

The Daily Driver

When we started the 65bbq website, it was just for fun, a great way to showcase the classic, plus the opportunity to learn the skills needed to create a website.

As the photographs from car shows started to fill up computer space the website developed into a place to showcase other classic cars and the classic car venues we attended.

The progression of our daily driver from first purchase to now is ever-changing. Our favorite find, Prestige Auto, replaced the tonneau cover and reupholstered the split-bench seat this week. In addition, they did a fantastic job on the interior of the Van Tiki. Check out their classic work here.

Showcasing the new tonneau cover and reupholstered seats at the Road Kings Classic Car Show at Johnny Carson Park on June 12, 2022. The Road Kings is one of our favorite car shows, so if you are in the area, stop by for a visit. Cooking up some hot dogs on the Q.

Cruisin for a Cure 2013
The Ranchero & the Blue Q at Cruisin for a Cure 2013

Cruisin' for a Cure: It's an early wake-up call to get to the show. The reaction to the Blue Q makes it worth the trip. Some amazing people attend the show and as always it is fun talking to everyone about the Ranchero and the Q. Great to see Lee jamming around in his golf cart making sure the show is organized. If you want to check out a car this is the place to go. From a Duesenberg to the line-up of DeLoreans the show was worth the drive. Photo's of the CarShow should be up September 30, 2013 Too many great shots to choose from.

Thanks everyone who runs the show. "Great car show for a great cause. "

1965 Ranchero: The car show connection.

Want to know more about finding that perfect body shop-go to a car show.

When the '65 was first purchased at the Pomona Swap Meet in April 2005 it was in great running conditions but the interior was a mess. Keeping the integrity of the car while, making changes was a challenge. It was hit-and-miss with each endeavor. Some shops did a great job, others not so much. Going to and showing the Ranchero at car shows has been a great investment in finding and giving information on body shops, vendors for parts and general information about the Falcon Ranchero experience. One thing about the car junkie we love to share a great find. If you’re looking for information on where to find parts, re-plate a dash board find a great mechanic or an amazing pinstriper-check out a car show.  For more on the history of the 1965 Ranchero and the Blue Q go to HISTORY or check out a CarShow.
