The first time a Pontiac hood mascot came into the camera's view was at the Bishop, California October Fall Colors Car Show. It was a beauty. Since then, every Pontiac Hood Mascot we come across, the camera captures. The Pontiac Hood Mascot stands strong. It is fierce, facing the wind, driving down the road, lining the parking lots so everyone can enjoy the history of this striking emblem. With 2020 finally gone, we have decided to focus on some of our best photography from10 years of shooting car shows. Dragging past car shows around like we did last year is not part of the equation. Hopefully, our beloved car show venues will be back soon, but we are looking forward to giving attention not only to the ride but to some of the photos that showcase what makes a classic so memorable, the parts.

Flying in the wind, taking to the road, the radiator cap defines history.
The Bishop Fall Car Show was an unexpected surprise. We had gone to Bishop for the fall colors. Everywhere we went there were vintage classics cars everywhere. Soon we found out that there was a car show in town. The flying lady hood mascot on this Oldsmobile classic was our first hood shot.

The beauty of the Pomona Swap Meet is the fact that you never know what you may find. Our visit to Pomona’s March 2012 meet the Chrysler Plymouth Mayflower caught the camera’s eye. From 1928 through the ’50s, this windswept ship recognized as the tall ships or rocket ships were encased in plastic, wrapped in chrome, created with art deco designs, for more Plymouth hood mascots check out our photo-lines at car-tografi where it is all about the parts.
