2018 Car Show Season

Notes from 2018

The Ranchero & the Blue Q was created to show off some of the outstanding rides we come across while attending or showing off the ‘65. This year started as usual with the Grand National Roadster Car Show; we have been lucky enough to be granted a media pass for the past few years and feel honored to attend next year. The GNRS hit all expectations for a car show; the classics that demand attention throughout the venue is extensive. This year we had a fun time meeting with some of the speed innovators and authors showcasing The Rolling Bones. Find out more about their story, outlined in the Book of Gow, which we happily purchased in the post, The Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop & Something to remember me by.

The Rolling Bones Gathering at the Grand National Roadsters Car Show

GNRS: The Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop

The Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop showcased some awesome history along with their limited edition book, The Book of Gow. The layout of roadsters at the show made the venue look clean and new compared with the usual lineup of cars way too close together. The Book of Gow tells the story of the Bonneville racing experience with original artwork, photographs, and whimsical personal stories about the rides. There are slide-out pages and history everywhere. This is a great automotive book; catch some of the rides from the show in the Gallery.

The Grand National Roadster Car Show 2018

Today was the first day of the GNRS, it runs until Sunday January 28, 2018. Tomorrow the outside rides arrive so if you still plan on attending it will be a great day for catching history. The Roadster show is one of the best car shows in the world and showcases an incredible class of roadsters. This year something different rode into building 6, The Rolling Bones Gathering, Hot Rods built by Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop out of NY. The classic Roadsters are scattered around the room with different scenes representing the Bonneville experience. They have a shop in the corner so stopped to check out the signed edition of Book of Gow, which stands for gas, oil, water, at least that’s what some say according to the books story-line.

While checking out the book of Gow at the GNRS, I started talking with Marty about how beautiful the book was. Here’s where the lucky part of the day kicks in; he introduces us to some of the book authors and contributors attending the show, and they signed the signed edition; thanks, Marty. If you get a chance, stopover at Building 6 for the Rolling Bones Gathering, the Book of Gow is worth the purchase; there are only 2,500 copies in print..
