There is something about a car show, everyone is happy. From car show participants to the community that shows up to look at the classic cars. The car show experience is a happy place; it offers an opportunity to gather information and swap stories, brings together car clubs and vendors that work in the car industry. It offers a history lesson about the automotive experience. Thanks to the Road Kings for setting up a beautiful car show filled with perfection.

The Ranchero was once all alone. Then one day there on the grass at a Falcon car show was this little falcon trailer. Following it from car show to car show, never being able to find out who it belonged to I let it go. Then one day while talking to Russ Wall (see garage) he mentioned he had picked up this trailer and was about to break it down into parts. Fate?

Missed taking The Ranchero & The Blue Q to the Beachcruisers Meet.

Postponed car show may have been a good thing with so much happening at the pier. Car shows should be just about the ride. Looking forward to the new Beachcruisers car show date, will keep you posted. This weekend is the Goodguys 17th Meguiar's Del Mar Nationals at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar. Always a great show, get there early the freeway tends to turn into a parking lot. Don't forget Fridays at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank. Never know what shows up there and it's a good time for all. The Valley Mustang Club is meeting in at the Northridege Plaza on Friday March 31. Great news, car shows are back at Johnny Carson Park. The Kiwanis are having there 17th annual Fun Car Show April 30, 2017. Look for more car show news in the Gallery.

After many request: Favorite Rub.

A good rub is key to crispy chicken on the Q. This blend is a basic mix that can last up to a month in an airtight container. Add your own spices or mix it up with smokey blends. Great with other meats & fish. Chicken Thighs: Rinse, clean and dry chicken, apply as much rub to taste. I tend to go heavy on the rub. Cook skin side up, flip often till done. About 45 min.
