Breaking it down

There is an exquisiteness to a classic car show, the automotive construction, the lines and curves, chrome and paint finishes, etched patterns, the art of the pinstriper, painted flames, and decorative artistic impressions, not to mention the kustom evolution of the ride.

This is the Grand National Roadster Show.

Check it out!

Every year we have been blessed to receive a media pass for the GNRS. Thank you!

In the room where the media briefing was held was a wall of vintage racing posters. If you haven’t had the opportunity to explore this amazing museum filled with California drag racing history, check it out.

RC Flyers Take to the Sky

Weekend surprise with a stopover at the aviation field for
RC Flyers honing their craft.

Thanks to all the RC Flyers for sharing their love on a Sunday morning disruption filled with questions and lots of answers. Enjoy the moment shared with the camera; shooting a car show was much easier than following the speed racing across the morning sky.

Looking up we could see the airplanes flying across the field so we drove over to check it out!

Vintage on the Mind

Catch a car show and enjoy history!

Friendship is a powerful thing.

This is for Mike
the Ranchero and the Blue Q.

Do Classic Cars find you?

Always for the want of a Ranchero.

My brother’s car was a black, deluxe model with bucket seats. So for ten years, pinned on a bulletin board in my office were the exact dimensions of a ‘65 Ranchero, reminding me that someday I would find the perfect car and make it mine.

The making of a BBQ

Why are you following me?

Saw the trailer at a car show and passed on it, but the thought of what could be would not let go.

The Perfect Fit

Jack’s Auto Body gave this ride the ghost flames needed for the final finish.

Classic Car Photography: Take a look at the pinstriper, laying down the line.

Breaking down the Classics with The Pinstripe.

The Pinstriper

Skill, a steady hand and paint.

A steady hand is needed to create a personal touch through the artistic endeavor where a brush and paint make the lines on hot rods,  low riders, and classic cars. The lines of today are still moving forward with the same techniques that inspired a generation of car enthusiasts.

Car shows highlight the custom artwork that embellishes many classic cars—breaking down identity with a bit of paint.

Road Kings Car Show Photos June 12, 2022

2022 Road Kings Classic Car Show

Johnny Carson Park in Burbank, California, was the perfect location for the car show. This sweet little hidden gem has a two-level open lawn space, creating a picture-perfect atmosphere for a car show.

The Road Kings

Car Club

one of the oldest in the United States, there is history at this car show.

This is one of our favorite car shows, and we love taking
The Ranchero and the Blue Q out for a day of fun.

The two-level venue is divided by a wildlife riverbed with a rolling lawn landscape on the upper level with large shade trees covering the park. The lower level had the main stage, music, car show vendors, and all the Road Kings car show activities.

Getting to the car show early in the morning is essential when part of the show is taking photographs for the website. The sun is kinder to the ride in the morning, but the morning ritual of cleaning the car for hours can block the camera from getting the photograph.
So the search begins; the happy hour of walking through the car shows in search of the camera shot before the crowd arrives.

This year's show was a full house; with some amazing rides and classic car details.
It was a lot of fun, and seeing the So Cal Falcons and other recognizable faces after two years was nice. Thanks to all who stopped by for a look at the Ranchero and enjoyed a few hot dogs on the Blue Q.

A special thanks to the Road Kings!

Enjoy the show.
