Hot August Nights 6-11, 2013

'57 Ranchero  Hot August Night 2007

Hot August Nights Reno/Sparks. Created to party with the 50's & 60's tunes coming from the convention center to raise money for local charities is one of the best cars shows to go to if you have a chance. Every car you want to see is there and even ones you have never heard of cruise the streets. Different car shows are presented every day. Friday is all GM's, Saturday is "show and shine". Each casino has their own different cars show, raffle and live music. Every night there is a great car cruise in Sparks. The auction is fun to watch with the cars ranging from spectacular to daily drivers. If it gets too hot you can go inside and play the gaming tables. Catch it if you can.

Auctions America-Burbank
auctions-america-main.gif
Auctions America August 1-3 2013 Burbank, California Covered on NBC

Checked out the Auctions America show yesterday. The crowd basically was there for the looking. It was free to get in on Friday but there is a $25. fee to park next to the venue and $10. to park and ride the shuttle + this weekend you have to pay to get in if you are not a bidder. Some complaints about the show from some I talked with. California is not the place for this kind of Auction. "In the south this would be a sell out" Well take note, $25. to valet your car? I attend a lot of the Pomona Swap Meet shows. $10. to park & $10. to get in and the place is packed before 6AM. Now I know this is an Auction first class, so I expect parking and entrance fees but if I am going to the show to check out the fine rides, you lost me at the parking lot. I can find some mighty fine rides at a car show for free. So keep the Auction and check out a car show this weekend, or watch the Auction on TV.

Next Week-Hot August Nights  August 6-11 2013 Reno/Sparks Nevada

Carshow Weekend: July 27, 2013

Downtown Burbank Car Classic

July 27, 2013 3PM-9PM     Car preview July 26, 2013 @ Bob's Big Boy in Burbank.

Go to Carshow Gallery for CarShow Pics.

This show started last year. Taking a preview from the Big Boy perspective tonight and then checking out the car show tomorrow afternoon. Timeline 3PM-9PM

This is a replacement for the Be Boppin' In the Park car show Burbank showcased down Magnolia Blvd a few years back. Looking forward to checking it out.

Getting ready for Reno-Hot August Nights-August 6-11, 2013, this is one of my favorite downtown car shows.

The 1957 Ford Ranchero

1957 Ford Ranchero

This car showcased at the George Barris Cruisin' back to the 50's car show. It is the look of perfection and shows detail and the hard work needed to keep this Ranchero dream on the road.

The 1957 Ranchero was the first to capture the part car, part truck market. Unveiled at the New York Auto Show December 8, 1956 as the perfect utility pick-up with the comfort of a passenger car interior. Three engines were available. The 144 hp six, 190 hp V-8 and the Thunderbird V-8. The basic price back in the day $2224.44.

Happy 4th of July

Taking the '65 out for a early morning ride. New brakes, engine block, great weather, flag flying on the front porch. Hamburgers cooking on the Blue Q this afternoon.

This is for all the Firemen, men & women in our military, veterans, police officers, who live and die to keep us safe.

Car-tografi-laying down the line made it on schedule. Check out the site for our first release of the book series-First book is all about the stripe. www.cartografi.com

Welcome to the new 65bbq

The story is the same. Falcons, Falcons, Falcons. With the introduction to the trailer site Car-tografi we can now focus on the Falcon/Ranchero storyline. This site is still the driving force for all things Falcon. CARSHOW PICS has been replaced with CarShow Gallery-breaking down the car show in a more creative page format. We have taken the the Ranchero and Falcon line-up into a new theater. Now you can take a look at all the photos of Rancheros and Falcons broken down by cars, emblems and signatures. We are giving notice to The Artist that enhance the car show circuit and showcasing contributors to the ’65 and the Blue Q.  Still the same, are the list of car shows we love in the contributors section. First feature car show is The Road Kings June 9th Show. We are slowing going to update past car show into the site-so look to CarShow News for those updates.

Thanks to all for keeping the 65bbq site up and growing into new ways to look at the car show.

65bbq now has a trailer site. car-tografi a photographic journal of a carshow. This site is going to give a new venue for all the collected photos generated from the bbq site. Though this site we are going to produce a series of books and e books that showcase the ride from a collection point of view. Check out the new site at www.cartografi.com

FYI

Photo Galleries may run as a slide show or single photo storyline. You can click on any picture for a larger view of photo. You can then use the arrows for a slide show of photos. Always changing up the view of the car shows so take a look at them often to catch something new.
